5th Annual “Run for the Rescue” 5K Run / Fitness Walk

This event will be held at Peacefield Equine Sanctuary, Terre Haute, IN. There will be an Open House at 1:00 p.m., and the race will start at 4:00 p.m.
WALKERS, RUNNERS of all abilities, and ANIMAL LOVERS! Join us for our celebration of National Help-A-Horse Day and participate in the 5th Annual “Run for the Rescue” to raise funds for the care of the horses of Peacefield, and to raise awareness of the issue of unwanted, abused and neglected horses in the Wabash Valley!

The out-and-back 5k course: The 5k race/fitness walk begins & ends at Peacefield (9811 East Davis Ave. Terre Haute, IN 47805). Runners and walkers will head west on Davis to Main, then south on Main to Grotto, turn around past the Vigo County Conservation Club (corner of Grotto and Randall), then head back to the finish at Peacefield. Water will be available at the turn-around area. All kilometers are clearly posted on this accurate and moderately challenging course. The streets are not closed to traffic, but will be well marked for safety.
5K Pre-registration options
- PRE-REGISTRATION is highly recommended to ensure a T-shirt and a discount on fees. Enter online or print and mail your entry to Run for the Rescue, 9811 E Davis Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47805. Please make checks payable to Peacefield Equine Sanctuary.
- Race day registration: You may register on race day from 2:45-3:45 p.m. at the rescue, but please note that the fee goes up by $5 per person, and T-shirt sizes may be limited.
- Packet pickup for all pre-registrants: will be held from 2:45-3:45 p.m. at the rescue. All waivers will be signed at packet pickup. If you want to pick up your packet early, call and inquire.
Prizes: All entrants will receive a well-stocked goody bag and delicious post-race refreshments donated by our very generous sponsors. Awards will be presented at approx. 5:30 p.m. to the top two male and female finishers in each age group in the 5k run. No awards will be presented for walkers, but all walk entrants are eligible for prize drawings during the award ceremony. T-shirts are given to all pre-registered entrants and while supplies last to race day entrants.
